Privacy Policy
Hermod, published by Joe Young. Last updated: August 22, 2026.
This policy describes how the Hermod iOS app (bundle identifier com.joeycyber.hermod) handles information. Contact: support@nullx.xyz.
What Hermod is
Hermod is an email client that runs on your iPhone or iPad. Mail is fetched from providers you choose (for example Gmail or Outlook) and shown in the app. Joe Young does not operate a Hermod mail server that receives, scans, or stores your messages.
Information stored on your device
- Account details — email address, display name, provider, and last-sync time.
- Credentials — OAuth access/refresh tokens and app passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain on this device. They are not uploaded to a Hermod server.
- Mail cache — message headers, bodies, and attachments you open may be cached in the app’s private storage so you can read offline.
- Preferences — settings, send quotas, and optional activity stats in UserDefaults (on device).
- Subscriptions — Hermod Pro status is managed by Apple StoreKit. Apple processes payment; Hermod only reads whether a subscription is active.
Information we do not collect
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not run advertising networks or tracking pixels.
- We do not collect a persistent device advertising identifier.
- Analytics are optional, default off, and currently a local preference only — turning the toggle on does not send mail content or identifiers to Joe Young unless a future on-device analytics path is added and this policy is updated.
Third-party services
When you connect an account, you authenticate with that provider (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, or your IMAP/SMTP host). Those companies process your credentials and mail under their own policies. Hermod uses the resulting tokens or app password only to talk to that provider’s IMAP, SMTP, or Gmail API from your device.
Purchases go through Apple. Apple’s privacy policy applies to App Store payments and subscription management.
Your choices
- Export — Settings → Export Data (Hermod Pro) writes a JSON file of locally cached mail metadata you can save or share.
- Delete — Settings → Delete Account & Data removes linked accounts, cached mail, and Keychain tokens from this device. This does not delete the mailbox at Google, Microsoft, or another provider; remove Hermod’s access there as well if you wish.
- Notifications — local new-mail alerts; you can disable them in Settings or iOS Settings.
Children
Hermod is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and the in-app copy in Settings → Privacy Policy.
